Keith Ford – Gift within a Gift – Sunday 24th April

Romans 6:23 (NIV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Gift of Salvation Gift within a gift       No point having a gift when you are not connected. Ie a satnav that is not plugged in is if no use. When your a Christian your destination is heaven, the coordinates are set to heaven. At the nearest point turn around… Like repentance God leads us one way and we go another, but the coordinates are set for heaven… Once we have accepted Jesus asout lord and saviour, the coordinates are set for heaven, we can have eternal life The death and resurrection of Christ enables us to have eternal life… If we had done the Easter story, we would not have done it the way God did, Jesus was plugged into the eternal, he […]

Len Stockwell – Do not be afraid – 10th April 2011

Psalm 27:1-14 (KJV)The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? [2] When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. [3] Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. [4] One thing have I desired of the Lord , that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord , and to enquire in his temple. [5] For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon […]

Sunday 3rd April 2011 – Eddie Gjoni – Gideon Defeats the Mideonites

Judges 7 Torches and trumpets- what a way to win a battle with 300 men. 1. There was a mighty army with 33000 men and God sifted them. God was after quality not quantity. We need to work on quality in our lives. Build quality lives that will produce quality disciples. 2. God chose people Judges 7:9-11 (NIV) During that night the Lord said to Gideon, “Get up, go down against the camp, because I am going to give it into your hands. [10] If you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah [11] and listen to what they are saying. Afterward, you will be encouraged to attack the camp.” So he and Purah his servant went down to the outposts of the camp. God knows who he Is dealing with. God gave Gideon two options and Gideon chose the option that gave him […]

Andy Blakey – Joshua 1 – 6 20th March 2011

Joshua 1:6 (NIV) “Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Mentioned several times in Joshua. The people tell Joshua at the to be strong and courageous at the end of chapter 1 The Lord also told Joshua to read the word of the law. Nothing more invigorating reading the word and God speaking to you. Why not, when reading the bible write your thoughts and your notes rather than reading someone else’s notes. Chapter 2 Joshua sends spy’s. Rehab, although a prostitute, she was Part of the line of Jesus. Hides the spys. Joshua had to cross the river Jordan. He told the priests to walk and continue walking, when you get to the river and as you go the river will part. We are sometimes asked to do this, as we step out the […]

Russell Godward – God the king is On the move

Exodus 19 v1 to Numbers 10 = 1year at Sinai Numbers 13 to 26 = 38 years of wanderings Numbers 26 to Dueteronomy 34 = 1 year of preparation for a new generation Want to be part of a new generation who will rise up and trust god Fear erodes our faith and our guest in God. The old generation ( not a reference to age). Caleb was one of the old guys but he had a different attitude. Had a different heart so he was a new generation. The old generation just complained. They were then condemned to dath, a life wandering the desert. Complaining undermines everything that God is doing. Were rebellious (Numbers 14). God had prepared them for a promised land, just step into the land, I’m going to give it to you, and they said NO!!!! Numbers 13 – They spread a bad report, exaggerated the […]

Andy Blakey – 27th February 2011

Acts 19 v 1 Johns baptism is a baptism of repentance. “sorry for what I’ve done, I want a new start”. Acts 18 v 24 Apollos was jew and a learned man and only knew the baptism of John What is the difference between the Baptism of John And the baptism of Jesus? johns baptism is the baptism of repentance Jesus’ baptism is the baptism of redemption Jesus cam and bought/redeemed us. Yes could lead a better life etc, but you can never lead a blameless life. Sin is making wrong choices. God sent Jesus to pay for our sins, to buy us back. We are tied up, bound, caught and can’t get free, so Jesus comes and sets us free. When baptised I am dead to what has gone before and alive to what is to come bought for a price and set free.

Andy Blakey – standing in the gap

2 Cor 10 v 1-6 Nehemiah built the wall and built in unity Breach in the wall and someone physically put themselves In the gap so the the enemy can not come in. Someone to stand in the gap so that the wounded can get back. Don’t see it as we are barley holding on but we are a mighty army and our weapons are more powerful Eph 6 – not fighting against men but spiritual things. We need to take out thoughts captive 2 Corinthians 10:5 “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,” when you pray be bold, say I’m going to stand in the gap so that they will eb set free from the things that bind them. When we pray we can be very much a “I need it know” culture Jesus teaches […]

Eddie Gjoni

Mathew 6 v 5 – Mat 6:5  "When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites! They love to stand up and pray in the houses of worship and on the street corners, so that everyone will see them. I assure you, they have already been paid in full. Mat 6:6  But when you pray, go to your room, close the door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what you do in private, will reward you. Mat 6:7  "When you pray, do not use a lot of meaningless words, as the pagans do, who think that their gods will hear them because their prayers are long. Mat 6:8  Do not be like them. Your Father already knows what you need before you ask him. Mat 6:9  This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven: May your holy name be honoured; […]
