Exodus 19 v1 to Numbers 10 = 1year at Sinai
Numbers 13 to 26 = 38 years of wanderings
Numbers 26 to Dueteronomy 34 = 1 year of preparation for a new generation

Want to be part of a new generation who will rise up and trust god

Fear erodes our faith and our guest in God.

The old generation ( not a reference to age). Caleb was one of the old guys but he had a different attitude. Had a different heart so he was a new generation.
The old generation just complained. They were then condemned to dath, a life wandering the desert. Complaining undermines everything that God is doing.
Were rebellious (Numbers 14).

God had prepared them for a promised land, just step into the land, I’m going to give it to you, and they said NO!!!!

Numbers 13 – They spread a bad report, exaggerated the report and turned people against the lord, exaggerated the situation to instill fear.

Do you confess faithless thing about the church and mscs

They were presumptuous of God and expected God to be with them in their rebellion. Can not live our lives as though God is not in them and expect God to move in our community.

They held a wrong View of themselves. Speaking to them for 400 years of destiny and bringing the kingdom of God. They then said “we are not what God thinks we are, we are just grass hoppers”

God will fulfill his promises / purposes. It will happen in Thurrock, but if we hold a wrong view,we may just miss out.

To encourage us to be a new generation, be of different heart and mind

Numbers 26:56-65 (NIV)Each inheritance is to be distributed by lot among the larger and smaller groups.” [57] These were the Levites who were counted by their clans: through Gershon, the Gershonite clan; through Kohath, the Kohathite clan; through Merari, the Merarite clan. [58] These also were Levite clans: the Libnite clan, the Hebronite clan, the Mahlite clan, the Mushite clan, the Korahite clan. (Kohath was the forefather of Amram; [59] the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, a descendant of Levi, who was born to the Levites in Egypt. To Amram she bore Aaron, Moses and their sister Miriam. Be strong and courageous

Trust God and run with God.

Be single minded

Joshua 1:7-8 (NIV)Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. [8] Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Intentionally pursue God in our lives, not just rocking up to church on a Sunday. Live for Christ single minded.

Do not be terrified or discouraged.

God is with us, allow the news stories.
