Exodus 33 v 15

And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

A diamond has many views, you can look at it many different ways, as it is with God.

What is Gods Glory & Presence

• Glory mentioned over 350 times in the bible to very important.
• Manifest presence by which he reveals his character of goodness and display by signs and wonders
• Wherever Gods glory goes, Gods presence is there
• Manifest as a Cloud
  • King Solomon – “His love endures forever” Gods glory turned up as a cloud in the temple
• Manifest as Fire
  • Moses and the burning bush
  • Tongues of fire
• Manifest as light
  • Blinded Saul on the road to Damascus
  • Revelations – John saw someone appear as the sun shining
• Manifest as Sound
  • Loud trumpet blast – Mount Sinai
  • Jesus baptised – Voice from Heaven – “this is my son…..”
  • Acts – Sounds like the rushing wind.

Lord came down and passed in front of Moses and the lord proclaimed (no big trumpets etc)

God who is gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.

God wanted to proclaim his name as well.

Proclaim the word of the lord…

God gives us the Holy Spirit therefore do we need Gods presence etc… YES!! know Gods presence within us AND with us.

Eph – The lord can do immeasurably more…

Hebrew word “Glory” = Capod – Heavy, has weight, tangible

Gen 3 Adam & Eve walking and talking in the cool of the evening – Actually talked with god, not small still voice…

Mist appeared to Church, Rain in Church, Flex of Gold – Not had in our church, but manifest in bodily responses (Shaking, laughing etc) – How God appears.

How can we receive Gods Presence

• Repentance
  • Come to a place where we have rid ourselves of wrong doing in our lives
  • Need to examine ourselves and come back to repentance
• Hunger and Thirst
  • Are we desperately hungry,
  • Are we desperately seeking God
  • 2 Chronicles 16-9
  • God longs for us more than we can long for him
• Intimacy with God
  • Speaks to man as a friend (Moses) God wants that for us.
  • John 17 : 9– John expands on the level of intimacy – He is praying for ALL believers
    

    John 17:9  I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine:
    John 17:10  and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them.

How can we display Gods Glory in our lives

• Gods intention is to cover the whole world with his Glory
• Psalm 72:19  And blessed be his glorious name for ever; And let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen, and Amen.
• Habakkuk 2
• Numbers
• Gods Glory and Presence to be given away.
• Romans 1 17 – Not ashamed of the Gospel
  • Go into community and demonstrate His glory and presence
• Can’t use a tree to show his love, but can use us.

Exodus 34: 10

And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been wrought in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of Jehovah; for it is a terrible thing that I do with thee.
